About the Role
Staking Facilities operates one of the leading Solana validator infrastructures, with a team of 30–40 people working remotely across Europe (primarily Germany and neighboring countries). We're looking for a Junior System Engineer to join our infrastructure team and work directly alongside our lead Solana engineer — one of the top Solana validator experts globally, who built our Solana systems from the ground up — to learn and grow into blockchain infrastructure work from a strong Linux/systems foundation.
What You'll Do
- Support the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of our bare-metal infrastructure at our Munich data center
- Work hands-on with Linux systems and gradually take on more ownership of validator-adjacent infrastructure tasks
- Learn Solana validator operations directly from an experienced mentor
- Contribute to monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation of infrastructure components
- Join the on-call rotation on a need basis as you grow into the role
What We're Looking For
- Solid Linux systems administration fundamentals — this is the one hard requirement
- No blockchain or Solana experience required — genuine curiosity and motivation to learn matters far more than prior crypto exposure
- Based in or able to regularly commute to Munich — frequent on-site presence at the data center is expected
- A collaborative mindset — this is a small, close-knit team, and reliability/teamwork matter as much as technical skill
- A real drive to learn deeply rather than just get by — we're looking for someone who wants to grow into deep technical expertise over time, not just fill a seat
Nice to Have
- Exposure to virtualization/bare-metal (Proxmox, KVM), containers (Kubernetes/OpenShift), or observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana)
- Self-driven interest in blockchain or crypto security
