Job description
Janus is building the financial operating system for global freight: AI-powered freight document intelligence (live in production with paying customers), stablecoin-powered same-day settlement, and shipment-data-underwritten working capital.
We're deploying freight-receivables lending contracts on Stellar and need a specialist who lives and breathes Rust and Soroban. You'll own the smart contract layer of our Stellar rollout: writing, testing, deploying, and hardening the contracts that let shipment-backed receivables be financed on-chain - from testnet through a pilot-ready mainnet deployment.
Engagement
- Contractor, project-based with flexible capacity: August - December 2026
- Potential to convert to a full-time role at the beginning of 2027
- Remote, Europe-based required (HQ in Hamburg, Germany)
- Fluent English required; additional languages a plus
What You'll Build
Soroban Lending Contracts
- Smart contracts for freight-receivables financing - design, implementation, testing, testnet deployment, and mainnet hardening
Contract Security & Audit Readiness
- Test coverage, invariant checks, upgrade/admin patterns, and preparing contracts for external review before mainnet
Monitoring & Docs
- On-chain monitoring and alerting for deployed contracts, plus public developer documentation
What We're Looking For
- Expert-level Rust
- Hands-on Soroban experience with contracts deployed to Stellar testnet or mainnet (show us the code - GitHub links expected)
- Strong grasp of smart contract security patterns and the failure modes of on-chain lending and credit systems
- Familiarity with the Stellar ecosystem: Soroban SDK, the Stellar asset model, anchors/SEPs
- Demonstrated capacity to build and ship - we will take references
Nice to Have
- Experience with RWA or receivables tokenization
- Experience running Stellar (or other) validators / node infrastructure
- Multi-chain smart contract experience (Solana/Anchor especially)
- Prior audit experience (giving or receiving)
